Prayer time

I must confess I struggle to pray sometimes. Sometimes I’d rather not pray. There are other times it is a lot easier. Either way, the writer of Romans encourages us that God knows our hearts and needs.
I have so many needs and wants and some are just humanly impossible to achieve and out of reach for me.
Many times within the bible, we are encouraged to pray. We’re encouraged to seek the Lord. We are told about the power of prayer and the effects and benefits of prayer. We are encouraged that prayer is a form of worship and that God loves worship.

I still have room for more

In rounding off my prayer time on Tuesday (maybe Monday) , I said quietly; Lord, I still have room for more.  I am not sure why I said it but I repeated that line so many times and it dominated the remaining minutes of my prayer time. And all through this week I have mentioned it during prayer.

I figured out after that the quote ‘room for more’ is something I read in the bible.

So I prayed more fervently. :)

The Lord promised that if I obeyed, He would bless me so much that I would be a blessing to others. That’s me paraphrasing Malachi 3:10. I want that blessing! That’s a nice to have on my long prayer list! Continue Reading →

Time will tell

As surely as the day will break today, time is a constant factor that, at the right time reveals what we all have been doing with our time…

As we move towards the end of the year,I am taking time to account for what I have done and haven’t done. What I have done wrong or could have done better and the things I got spot on.

I am excited and thankful by the successes achieved so far yet puzzled by the many disappointments. Dare I say, the mountains that have refused to move! Continue Reading →

Little foxes

The technology age we live in although has so much improved the quality of our lives and information sharing and dissemination, it has however brought upon us a greater level of distractions that make many wander away from the important things and be carried away with frivolous and unnecessary events. With the click of a button, you are on your way to endless links, stories and pictures that can keep you occupied for a very very long time. One cannot overstate the fact that we are overloaded with information these days with the click of a button.

The battle between staying on the likes of Facebook and ‘tweeting away’ and visiting other social networking sites as against doing the important things of the day and even possibly going to bed now occurs daily in the lives of many.
